God takes full responsibility for the life wholly devoted to Him.

Charles Stanley

I was talking to a friend yesterday and she was telling me about some big frustrations she’s having with her job: people going behind her back, her boss catering to the loud instead of the deserving, and (maybe worst) a general culture of mediocrity. When she took this job she felt like she could help people, like she could make a difference. Now, she just feels exhausted and she’s wondering if she’ll make it to Christmas.

She knows she’s doing what’s right. But she also feels like no one appreciates it. She worries that she might be fired for it.

I didn’t have much wisdom of my own to offer, but I’d heard this quote recently and I felt like it might speak to her. I repeated it and it stopped her in her tracks. She looked at me and said, “That’s what I need to hear.”

I think it’s what we all need to hear when we’re concerned about the future. If we live for God now, God will live through us and for us in the future. Guaranteed.

No worries.
